Brechoire presents her original music at DerHaus Festival in Ajijic, Mexico.

Jemina Brechoire is a composer, pianist, vocalist, and producer based in New York City. Trained as a jazz pianist and classical composer, her practice moves between composition, improvisation, song, electronic production, orchestration, and interdisciplinary performance.

Central to her work is the relationship between piano and voice: she performs them simultaneously as an integrated instrument, blending touch, timbre, articulation, and improvisation into a single musical language.

A recipient of Berklee College of Music’s Presidential Scholarship, Brechoire earned her B.M. in Piano Performance at Berklee and her M.M. in Classical Composition from Manhattan School of Music. Her original music has been commissioned by Balenciaga, Massey College at the University of Toronto, Vocalconsort Leipzig, DICE Trio. She has also worked with composer Dai Fujikura and arranged and composed for Grammy-nominated saxophonist Tia Fuller.

As a performer, Brechoire has appeared at venues and presenters including The Kennedy Center, The Jazz Gallery, Joe’s Pub at The Public Theater, DROM NYC, Berklee Peformance Center, Harvard Business Club, and the Sō Percussion concert series, with festival appearances including MIJA Jazz Festival or Habibi Festival at Joe's Pub. She performed alongside  Abeer Nehme, Firas Zreik, Mona Miari, Roger Waters and Nibal Malshi.

In 2026, Brechoire was selected for the M³ (Mutual Mentorship for Musicians) cohort. Her current work includes a new original album bringing together her roles as composer, pianist, vocalist, and producer, alongside performances and projects in the United States and internationally.

Music

"There are songs you listen to. There are songs you relate to. And there are songs that just swallow you up, heart and soul. Jemina is an artist that crafts these kinds of songs. Her latest creation, Daydreamer is definitely one of our favorites, and for a reason. Being the title of both the song and the album, Daydreamer contains organic percussion, velvet keys and harmony rich “scat” singing (who needs words when music can say so many things). All so perfectly crafted and with a José María Cano’s Hijo de la Luna vibe, they demonstrate Jemina’s skill to create mesmerizing music ."
